Softing OPC Toolbox Demo Client is a Windows-based test and demonstration utility from Softing AG. It showcases and validates OPC communication built with the Softing OPC Toolboxes, allowing engineers to connect to compliant OPC servers, browse address spaces, read and write process values, and monitor live data and events without writing code. It’s ideal for commissioning, interoperability checks, and troubleshooting in industrial automation environments.

• Connect to and test OPC Classic servers (DA, A&E, HDA) and, depending on your installation, OPC UA endpoints
• Browse server address spaces and quickly locate items/tags
• Read and write values with data type awareness, including arrays where supported
• Monitor subscriptions with timestamps, quality indicators, and change tracking; optional trend views where available
• View and acknowledge alarms and events (A&E)
• Query historical data (HDA) and export results for analysis
• Configure connection parameters and, where applicable, OPC UA security settings (policies, user authentication, certificates)
• Save and reuse connection profiles; capture diagnostic logs to aid troubleshooting
